Reclassification generally refers to movement between teacher classification lanes based on qualifying education or credits. Which coursework qualifies, what documentation is required, and how timelines work are decided by HIDOE — not by us.

Current Teacher Salary Schedule
HIDOE publishes its current salary schedules on its official site, which currently lists BU 05 10-month and 12-month teacher salary schedules for SY 2026-27. We link out rather than copying figures here so you always see the current version.

Professional Development & Reclassification Credits
HIDOE teachers can advance on the pay scale by earning and submitting qualifying credits. According to HIDOE, the two main paths are Academic Credits from accredited colleges or universities, and PD Credits from internally approved PD courses recorded in Learnsoft. The Advancing Professional Learning (APL) Program reviews and approves PD Credit courses.
We do not determine whether any particular course qualifies, and we do not approve or review PD Credit courses. The official HIDOE resource below is the best place to check current guidance on course types, approval processes, and submission.
